Seaport Village can celebrate Shakespeare with the best of ‘em! Upstart Crow, Seaport’s amazing coffee house and bookstore, is offering free open readings of Shakespeare plays the first Tuesday of every month. It is put on by The San Diego Shakespeare Society and it is a ton of fun! This is your chance to act out some of Shakespeare’s greatest plays or just watch and enjoy. It is very informal. You can come along and read a part, or just listen. They take turns so everyone who wants to read can have a go. No auditions required! It is informal cafe seating so you can come and go as you please. Below is the schedule for the next 3 months.

April 7th- Love’s Labours Lost A great explosion of language and many bizarre characters.
May 5th- Coriolanus A political drama with many acting challenges.
June 2nd- Twelfth Night To make it funny you have to do it seriously :)

All readings will happen from 6:45 pm – 8:45 pm.

I am not one to read in front of others but I will definitely be there to watch (with a nice Chai Latte in hand)!

To be or not to be,
Boardwalk Betty
